The Biomedical Technology Alliance
(BTA) seeks to enhance collaboration between academic researchers and
industry. Founding institutions of the alliance include Marquette
University, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee School of
Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of
Wisconsin-Parkside and TechStar.

BTA Executive Summary
Southeast Wisconsin's regional
strengths in biomedical engineering, functional imaging, medical
informatics, bioinformatics and technologies to accelerate drug
development will be leveraged by BTA to drive innovation. Within these
fields, BTA will provide a network of intellectual, physical and
financial resources to facilitate collaboration between researchers.
Through coordinated grant programs, educational workshops, technology
transfer, and a variety of other supportive activities, the BTA will
stimulate pioneering ventures that improve patient outcomes.
The vision of the Biomedical
Technology Alliance is to become a nationally recognized alliance of
academic researchers and industry partners. From diagnosis through
treatment of disability and disease, members seek to improve the quality
of life through development and application of biomedical technologies.
